WWE.com is reporting that Eddie Guerrero has passed away. Guerrero was found dead this morning in his Minneapolis hotel room. We here at Wrestling Exposed pass our condolences to the Guerrero family, his friends and World Wrestling Entertainment. More details on Eddie's tragic passing will be forthcoming.
Guerrero was found dead Sunday morning in his hotel room in Minneapolis. According to authorities, he didn¡¦t respond to a wake-up call so his nephew, fellow WWE wrestler Chavo Guerrero, and hotel security at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center forced their way into the room and found him.
There were no apparent signs of foul play, police said. An autopsy was planned to determine how Guerrero died.
Guerrero was in town for Sunday night's "WWE Supershow" at Target Center.
His nephew said Guerrero was open about past drug and alcohol abuse but had been sober for four years.
"This is a huge loss," said WWE chairman Vince McMahon. "Eddie was a wonderful, fun-loving human being. Eddie was a consummate performer."
Guerrero made his wrestling debut in Mexico in 1987. He rose to prominence in WCW in the mid-90's where he had many good matches against Rey Mysterio and eventually formed the short lived LWO gimmick.
He left WCW along with Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn and Chris Benoit and the group joined the WWE as the Radicals in 2000.
Guerrero's WWE career highlight was when he won the WWE Championship from Brock Lesnar at No Way Out in 2004.
Eddie is survived by his wife Vickie and his three daughters. He was 38-years old.
